The Indonesia government has committed to improving the quality of its religious education system and wants to achieve this by digitising its underlying support platform. The digital platform is envisioned to be a dashboard that would enable policy-makers, administrators and educators to fully harness technology and data analytics to develop their future work plans and budget.
The entire value chain of stakeholders should be able to rely on this digital platform to assess the learning outcomes of their students across the entire nation. Apart from improving the learning outcomes of the students, the educators should also be able to leverage the growing data bank to continuously fine-tune and create relevant education curriculum.
The project is worth about USD250 million. The implementation begun in late 2020 and is expected to roll out over a period of five years i.e. to be fully implemented by around 2025.
Apart from this, the Indonesia government is expected to announce later, a bold move to set up an online university for Islamic studies.
