This year, Indonesia was chosen as the official partner for the Hannover Messse 2021. The Hannover Messe is one of the world’s largest technology trade fairs. The event will be held digitally during April 2021 via an online platform which will be supported by Deutsche Messe AG, the event organizer.
The theme of this year’s event is “Making Indonesia 4.0”. Basically, this is the roadmap that was endorsed by the Indonesian government as an initiative to accelerate the development Industrial 4.0 for the country. The main goal is to make Indonesia one of the top ten largest economies in the world by 2030.
According to the roadmap, seven industry sectors have been identified for “Making Indonesia 4.0” i.e. medical devices, chemical, automotive, electronics, fashion industries, food and beverage, textile and pharmaceuticals. The identified sectors contribute to about 70% of the total GDP of manufacturing, 65% of manufacturing exports, and 60% of industrial workers.
For this event, up to 182 Indonesian companies expressed interest to participate in the event but only 156 of the potential participants were selected to be the official participants of Hannover Messe 2021. The selection consists of large-scale industrial companies, small and medium-sized industries (SMIs) and startups, industrial estates, industrial associations, Government-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), as well as ministries and institutions.
