Thailand reported 1,458 new coronavirus cases on Wednesday and two new deaths, as the country deals with a third wave of infections that saw record new cases on most days last week.
In the wake of the latest outbreak, some provinces have ordered the closure of waterparks and swimming pools. Most beaches and national parks are open, though some have imposed restrictions.
With international tourism sidelined for more than a year, Thailand’s tourism sector has been hit hard. Many of the island’s beaches are deserted, while businesses remain closed. Local Thais are now pinning their hopes on their government for a new plan that would allow vaccinated international travelers visiting Thailand to skip the quarantine measures now in place.
To this, Thailand once again try to promote Rayong as one of the tourist attraction spots that international travellers could consider to visit when in Thailand. The Rayong province is located near to Bangkok, is known for its natural beauty and could be accessed easily by both foreign visitors and locals. The province too has taken a big hit to tourism and the local spending has been very low due to the uncertainty of the current economy.
To help to rejuvenate the Rayong province, Thailand is trying to motivate entrepreneurs and startups to harness their innovative spirit to create products and solutions to restore the confidence of the foreign tourists and local.

Buildings and facilities owners/ operators have also feedback to the Thailand government that even though the Covid-19 pandemic has changed the shopping habits of the locals, they still believed that people ultimately want to come out in the open and shop. They believed that it is important to restore the confidence of the locals and this could be achieved by developing innovative solutions that allow the public to have instant access to Covid-19 information so that they could decide whether or not to visit their places-of-interest.
